If you open the lock before the mission starts, it doesn't respawn. No lock, door stuck, no moon calf.

if you open the cage before activating the quest, you can not open it to rescue biscuit and complete the quest - devs have acknowledged this bug and said it would be fixed in the next patch - it wasnt.

I heard if you walk right up next to the door, an F prompt appears. Is that true?

I've been pretty thorough with it and it's never popped up. Best I can manage is to highlight the entire cage, but it doesn't react to anything.
