It's cool that they include colour-blind modes, but they didn't help for this problem.
I've just accepted that when I'm playing on normal, Duels are on hard-mode.
It was at first getting used to what spells does, also getting used to swapping spells around until i was able to unlock additional spell sets via talents. at all times when fighting keep one of each colour spell on your spell set
What was the biggest help for me was learning when to Protego/stupify and when to dodge, timing protego is just so satisfying, especially when you unlock the talent for it to do aoe damage
On a side note: I play unlocked with M&K. I just rebound dodge to alt, so it's easier to use it when I need to.
I really don't know if this is of any help to you but consider spending a point in the room of requirement tree. There is a perk called "Maxima Potion Potency" which makes your basic attacks break through shields, no matter what color they are. You will be running through a lot of Maxima Potions though, so I don't know if thats much of help
However defending and dodging is the most important, so as long as that is maintained then you can take your time to pick and attack a target.
Crossed Wands 3 is the hardest fight in the entire game by a huge margin. Nothing else comes even remotely close.
The fight is easy when you adopt that perspective (of just waiting for that enemy spell cast and then holding Y).

Q
What are you talking about.
Then cycle through the other attacks with the mouse wheel. super easy.
I have 2 attack sets, one utility / stealth set, the other has light / repair with the last two i swap out for spells not used much (building, animal capture)
My problem comes from my defense, Q for the shield and CTRL for dodge roll can get interesting when surrounded. i changed heal to E though as i found trying to press G in an intense battle, failed miserably
Its a shame PC has to miss out on a tried and tested UI bar to accommodate Console players though, a more MMORPG UI bar for spells that utilize all the number keys would have been much better for Keyboard and mouse players.
