I found a Bug. If you capture the Niffler before you even start the quest you are stuck with no way of finishing. When you get to the point where you have to capture the Niffler it is no longer there so no progression in the quest.

what an oversight, basically it should spawn once u accept the quests, even if it a respawn.

Have you tried releasing the nifler and catching it again?

I just exited the game and went back in and it was there. Odd.

I have this issue. Caught all Nifflers in that area, then later accepting that quest.
the area is empty, there is not a single niffler.
tried changing daytime, tried saving and loading again, ending game and starting again.
no niffler spawns, so i cannot contintue that quest :(

I have the same issue. I caught all nifflers in the den as soon as I unlocked capturing. I have restarted the game multiple times, the new patch has come and I am at the end of the winter season but no new nifflers. I have done multiple story quests but no respawns. I have since the caught multiple unicorns, seems all monster dens except this one is respawning.

Voted. Have same problem.. They won't respawn no matter how many days i wait in the other end of the map.

wait till dark out on the road outside the den. then the gold showed up for me to trail again. Niffler was found out back of the den, stay hidden to get close before it burrows away

Ok I did everything everyone said and nothing changed. I went and did a bunch of other missions and fast traveled to Feldcdoft Catacombs, advanced time until night, walked (not fly) to the location and the little mf’er was just sitting there. I dunno why it finally worked. I tried this before several times in different ways and it didn’t change anything. I will mention that I went and completed the Rocco quest to find that niffler and have it on me still. Not sure if that matters but thought I’d mention it.

Hi, I had the same problem. I was able to solve it by restarting the game, then casting an invisibility spell, going to the very end of the den and then the niffler respawned.
