Fire and Vice mission glitched

I am currently doing the fire and vice mission with poppy. However, when I go to collect the dragon egg from the cage the lock is not on the cage to alohamora and the prompt just says "Press X to the Map Room" I've tried restarting the game and loading saves nothing has worked yet. Any suggestions?

If anyone has this problem you should just go away from the egg so the mission will cancel. Then you choose to "Abandon the mission" on the "death" screen and just do whole mission again. Worked for me. Hope I helped.

I have a similar problem, but when I press x to collect the dragon egg, the game thinks I still have to collect it even though it is in my inventory. I've tried restarting the quest, restarting the game, verifying the game files, and restarting my computer. Nothing works

I have also tried restarting the quest and its doesnt register that I have picked up the egg.

Were you using the Autohomora mod? For some reason the game doesn't think you've collected the egg if you use Autohomora when you open the lock. The only solution is to go back and open the lock again with the mod disabled.

Thank you for your reply. I also tried with all mods removed, except I noticed I had the OpenAllLocks mod which is in the binary folder. When disabling that it worked.

Oh yeah, there are a few more recent alternatives to Autohomora which also break the Fire and Vice quest. The one you mentioned is the UE4SS version of OpenAllLocks. There's also a blueprint version of that mod which auto-disables itself when you're near the dragon egg, so the blueprint version does not break the Fire and Vice quest. Nor does the SkipAlohomora mod (by the same modder) which also auto-disables itself.
