TW3 is in no way a bad game, it certainly paved the way for Hogwarts Legacy to be as great as it is. Personally, the combat is miles better in Hogwarts Legacy but the lore, story and characters are way better in The Witcher 3.

tw3 actually has a challenge to it, this games hard mode is like playing easy mode in tf2

I am enjoying this game but it is nowhere near as good as TW3. Many people compare this game to TW3 but to me it has more of a "Fable, the lost chapters" feel to it.
And sometimes you just want to play a game that makes you feel like a kid again, and not have deep dark adult themes.

combat is extremely different in these two games, one is magic casting only the other is sign casting and swordplay

This is a new Dev studio's first game, it doesn't even come close to comparing to the witcher 3 on any level, that being said its not a bad game either its really good.

Story wise no, this game falls behind a lot of other RPGs including the Witcher 3. However it has a more convenient open world than the Witcher. The combat is kind of similar in how you use skills, and upgrade the character. The loot system is somewhat worse than W3, which actually has some unique items, Legacy just has random loot like Skyrim. It sucks to clear an ancient tomb only to find a normal pare of 19th century silver rimmed glasses. lol I will say that Legacy has a pretty good transmog system though. Over all Legacy feels more like an MMO than an open world action RPG like the Witcher 3. Legacy is missing a lot of core RPG elements that the Witcher has, like basic characterization of its NPCs. XD

hell no. i like the game but its not even close. and hogwarts legacy uses the exact same conversation menu/ animation style as witcher 3

i strongly prefer Witcher 3 over Hogwarts Legacy.

-main story was a bit lacking imo, i did enjoy some side quests however.
-combat is a lot more fluid than Witcher 3, but not a lot of enemy variety.
-gear feels pretty boring.
-skill/inventory management is an absolute nightmare and could've been handled a lot better.
-The housing/alchemy part of the game feels like its been taken directly from a mobile game.

that being said its not a bad game, just a 7/10 for me personally

No.

It is a good game but it is not on the level of the Witcher 3. The quests aren't engaging enough, the npcs not realized well enough, the writing is passable but nowhere near as good as Witcher.

honestly one of the first things i thought when waching footage of this game is how similar combat/dialog/etc looked to witcher 3.

and then i remembered how hard carried witcher was by its story/world and how the gameplay itself was very unbalanced/easy/boring, and how that's almost certainly the case for this game as well.
