GTX 1660 TI on Gforce and GTX 1660 TI on the game

Right now, the game it's unplayable, it's terrible!
I tried to use GeForce’s optimization and the game got worse.
Even if I tried to use the Medium graphic settings, the game is still very slow

it's not a graphical issue ! i have a 1660TI ans setting low or optimised with geforce doesn't matter there is no perf differences, the issue come from this game using randomly the CPU and the RAM, it also use anormally the GPU too but it's not the main issue, and i have the same graphic card than you but it's playable i think you have another problem. i have some slutters of drops sometimes but nothing unplayable and i play with optimised geforce experience settings since 1st day - edit : this game MUST run on a SSD for 1080p 60fps, on a HDD it's only 720p 30FPS supported

Sorry to burst your bubble about the SSD, but i am able to run on over 60fps without SSD. Purely from the HDD.

Wouldn't matter to me if you run on SSD or not. Because i don't run it on SSD myself. When i built my machine back in 2013, i refused the SSD installation, and kept it old school.

Just a shame i have to retire the machine later this year to get a newer model. And if i could help other people to get this game to run on their machine i would. But everyone has so many different setups and configurations it is impossible to find the same fix for everyone, apart from getting a new machine.

Go into game settings, turn everything to normal, turn off DLSS and dont do any upscaling, turn off ray tracing.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing. I would of went with it, knowing what i know now.

Time for a new build anyway, after 10 years with this one, and lasting this long with the way things are going is a miracle in itself. Probably be switching to AMD as well, not liking the way Nvidia is heading personally.

You may be right about the engines and optimization, but why are they releasing the game if they clearly aren't ready?
If they need a longer term for correct operation, they would have taken it out later or they would have worked more. What's the point of launching it if thousands of players a week won't be able to play? That an easy answer. There's absolutely no way possible for any game to test on every single hardware configuration. There's just way to much variance in PC builds. The only thing they can do is release, take in bug reports and correct what can be corrected.

there is maybe no way to test any hardware config : yes, nut it is totally anormal this game don't work properly on hardwares that have more than the minimum and also more than the recommanded requirements ! it say recommended gtx1080, 1660 is better, i7 6th gen, i5 12th gen is better, 16gb of ram, 32gb is better so this is not normal this game don't run properly ! it's cause this is code by not pros ! else don't recommand this config and else recommand a nasa PC for a game who is no better than 6 years old games ! FF XV was the most poorly optimise game i saw, hogwarts is worst ! have you played Horizon zero dawn ? this is largely more huge like this and there no problm on it ! so please thanks but yes this a big problepm of coding and optimising this game !

depending the OS you use, windows 7 is not windows 11 fo example and it depend a lot more different things and no one say it's not possible to run it with a hdd, just not in the same quality, and i never talked about ultimate thing or not so thanks to not say what i never said !

The entire SKU series of those 16XX cards were budget cards released to stem the tide of hard to get 1070 and 1080 cards thanks to miners back then.

A GTX 1080 has 8Gb of VRAM, the 1660 had 6Gb. That alone made that card inferior.

The reccomended requirements also don't say 1080, it says 1080ti which was an 11Gb VRAM card, almost twice as much VRAM as the 1660.

1080 msrp was 599$
1660 was 219$

Do you really think they'd release a card that was better than the other for a third of the price?

I'm sorry, but even remotely thinking that series of cards were anything other than cheap bandaids to hold people over that couldn't get 1070 and 1080 cards before the 20 series was released is folly. They were crap budget then, and even worse now.

the 16xx series cards were budget friendly cards, they were never meant nor did they ever outperform anything higher than the 1060.
