Locked areas on the map?

How can i unlock them? Are they related to further progressing on the main quests or do i need something else?

Any area that is locked in an open world game usually means you will be going there as part of the story at some point in time.

Maybe there is nothing behind it. Maybe a future DLC area?

It is the map border.

im nearly sure all areas on the map are open to you from the get go. Unless you mean certain poi's

Really? Feldcroft or something and the place residing southeast from there are locked on my map.

There is a tunnel for the other side of the map. You can't go there with mounts/broom. If you try it with them you will see something like barrier. Just walk and you can go.

There's a lock on a door in the greenhouse which can't be unlocked as well.
