Final boss rant (no spoiler)
I cannot believe this. This entire game, every single attack, every enemy tackle, every hit, every projectile, everything literally everything is indicated with a circle above your head, and NON of them can be spaced/kited (aka you cannot just be far enough from the attack, it will curve or the enemy will slide to you to hit you).

But then this piece of sh*t final boss, THIS ONE ENEMY, THIS ONE SINGULAR ATTACK IN THE WHOLE F*CKING GAME, has no indication whatsoever. No circle at all. Not just no circle, this attack leaves a DoT area on the ground that is not ever ever ever in the f*cking game anywhere else! What the sh*t???? Hello??? You built the entire game on QTE foundations and then the final boss just has one mega dmg attack with DoT that requires you to be not standing somewhere, meanwhile your basic spell combo makes you inch forward????

No it gets worse, as the boss is about to die it does this attack just one last time to f*ck with you... Please devs. Please just put a red circle in there. Afaik there is like a sound or something for clue but the music, the sounds, everything literally masks all of it, but it doesn't matter because the entire game has played out UNLIKE this singular attack that the final boss has. That does massive damage on Hard, and hits instantly so you can't even projectile react it.

What a terrible fight to end the game, hated it, even the boss fights that throw you a bunch of trash on the side were better than this

Might be a bug. I'm near the end of the game and regular enemies stop giving me circles.

Just know that nobody cares how often you use Avada Kedavra in-game, so NPCs aren't gonna react differently to literally slaughtering other students with it.
yes i know

Is it not like what some of the bigger dark wizards do? where they summon the giant thunderbolt that leaves a purple/electro circle on the ground around where it hit? Cause I know those don't have any dodge/protego marker pop up

You encounter attacks with a different kind of marker in the tutorial against the ancient magic golems when they do their leap attack. You keep fighting them through out the game. Bandits have a caster who does something similar with a lightning attack. There is no way you never encountered these things. They are common enough I see them multiple times per play session.

Agree. This is the worst part of the game which really sucks. They dropped the ball... Pretty much on every level with the final boss. It's messy, it's confusing, the one attack doesn't have any warning what so ever so just spam potions up the ass. And the boss relies on the most pathetic boss design. Hit colored balls with magic to make him vulnerable and tickle him till he becomes invulnerable. Rinse and repeat for like 30min

Game devs. Making the final boss tanky and repetitive af is not a good way to design him. Please stop doing this. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth!

You guys got no indication for that? For me the camera kinda changed and the boss did a specific animation before the eruption centered on it started. Not very quickly either......At that point i rapidly started to dodge-flash backwards which worked out.

Not gona deny that i found the boss fight to be kinda dull as others mentioned though, visually it was something but mechanically it was kinda simple, repetetive and felt like hitting a punching bag.

i thought it was cool how ranrok was a dragon, it's not only flashy and fancy but also symbolic (if you did the tale of rowland oakes side quest you'll know how dragons come into play for ranrok's backstory), but yes, some things in the game could be less of the same thing over and over, i suppose

While it does tie in nicely to his backstory it also feels like it clashes a fair bit with his ideology, all this endless preaching about goblin superiority only to.....morph into a dragon?

Also, why did he not show up for the big fight with his army vs professors? Just leaving all his followers to get massacred? Or did the professors miss him swaggering in there? He could fly? Why can all the bad guys, even the minions, fly&teleport around as they please but we gotta dramatically walk&crawl?

The game does suffer from writing that.......leaves a lot open to interpetation and "because we said so" which to me hurts the flow a lot at times. Like the random "no flying (at this time)" zones or when followers like Natsai cant jump on a box but professor Fig could X_X

we can use swift ablity and floo flames, that's close enough to flying/teleporting lol
perhaps ranrok could've been a goblin with dragon wings or something haha, would fit better with his goblin supremacist beliefs
also ranrok had some of his loyalists and some trolls deployed in the repository area, we had to fight those
also poor natsai, lol *hugs her*
