Mainland Britain, Yorkshire for a more precise location and it's currently very grey and very washed out.
but if you really want more color, there should be a mod for that in nexus mod... just install that.
on the other hand there are several reshades, but they are also stupid *lol*
you're also always fumbling around with an extra .dll
But you can easily change your colors in the UE4 via the engine.ini.
Here's a correction that I personally find VERY appealing:
[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.Color.Min=0.0
r.Color.Mid=0.72
r.Color.Max=1.05
r.TonemapperGamma=1.35
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1.25
r.TonemapperFilm=1
r.Tonemapper.Quality=2
r.EyeAdaptation.ExponentialTransitionDistance=4
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.DisableDistortion=0
Simply copy into the engine.ini, if you find it bad, delete the lines out again. totally easy
Thank you - this worked very well and feels like it should have been the default settings from the beginning instead of the cloudy mess the game is at retail.
For anyone else reading this, literally copy the settings block as described by @Blacksmith77K above into your engine file - you can find that here:
C:\Users\WINDOWS_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini
When you open Engine.ini you will see lots of lines like this:
[Core.System]
Paths=../../../Engine/Content
Paths=%GAMEDIR%Content
Paths=../../../Engine/Plugins/Media/BinkMedia/Content
Paths=../../../Phoenix/Plugins/Utilities/Content
Paths=../../../Phoenix/Plugins/Wwise/Content
.......
You just need to paste the code block and the end of the file, save and boot up the game.
Just wanted to drop a line and say thank you for this. I got this game for my wife who is a novice gamer and I'm watching her play it. I couldn't stand how awful the stock color settings were. Your settings have drastically improved my second hand experience with the game. Why in the world the devs released this game with those awful settings is beyond my comprehension.
I paid for an 85 inch 4k 120hz HDR TV to enjoy beautiful PC games. Now I can enjoy this one. Thanks!
Thank you both very much! This grey foggy filter was driving me crazy, now the game looks much more crisp and vibrant. I also feel that it should have been the default settings, it's very strange that the devs decided otherwise
Still saving people july 2024. I do not understand why developers do this. I am honestly curious. Is it more effective to render? So many games are covered with a pale overtone i cant stand. WTF are they up to.
