Wondering if it's an intended function that you bond with this mystical creature over a quest or two before rescuing her and stuffing her into a bag like a packed lunch

seems very odd and to go against the prior vibe from the previous quest lines...

The whole capturing animals stuff in this game makes me feel a bit icky.

Taking wild animals out of their natural habitats and away from their families (magical beasts seem to be at least somewhat intelligent) just to keep them in our magic zoo?

yes... apparently it's suppose to work like that... it seems like the dev cant figure out how to make mount works, so they just give you a pokeball and call it a day.

I would imagine it works the same way as Newts suitcase in the fantastic beasts movies. Small on the outside, big on the inside. Lore-wise it adds up.

I get that, but it seems weird that in the questlines with her, you are in awe of how free-spirited and wild she is. She allows you to ride her, you rescue her from poaches who want to contain her, and then you do just that by popping her in a bag lmao.

Just seems like it would have made more sense to whistle for her. Especially as she is meant to have been friends with that girl who rescued her from poachers a few years before you even got to Hogwarts, but now her Hypogryff friend lives inside your handbag.

Btw you can release her into your vivarium and still use her as a mount.
