Polyjuice Potion Riddle is wrong

the last riddle of Sophronia Franklin prefers a wrong answer. The question is, can The Polyjuice Potion change species. the game wants to hear the answer False. however, hermione has very well changed species with the polyjuice at least partially to a cat and she ends up in the sick wing for it. the polyjuice potion can but may not be used. Volume 2, Chapter 12

She was still talking, moving and feeling human, she just had some furry features but that's it. It was just a potion malfunction due to "wrong" recipe. One may argue that since it contained an animal part that isn't even a complete polyjuice potion.

Hermione didn't intended to turn into a half-cat half-human person. She thought the hair she got off Bullstode's robes was Millicent's hair. She didn't know until she took the potion.

And that's not the only time its mentioned that PP can't be used to turn into other species. Its mentioned again in book 7 after the "Battle of the 7 Potters" when Lupin arrives at the Burrow -he questions Harry if he's really Harry. When Hagrid asks why Lupin isn't questioning him . Lupin says "The Polyjuice Potion is designed for human use only."

That quote doesn't say what you think it says. I don't disagree with how you mean it, but grammatically JKR is completely wrong if that was what she was trying to impart.

And Hermione's quote from book 2 "And the p-potion isn’t supposed to be used for animal transformations!”

So 1)iuts not suppose to be used for animal transformaitons. And 2)its not desginged to copy giants or half giants. So your the one who is wrong. We can only change race/gender/ using the PP but not species regards of its an animal or a half-giant

Sorry, but neither quote actually says what you're implying they say regardless of JKR's actual intent.

"...isn't supposed to be used for..." - doesn't explicitly state that it cannot be
"...is designed for human use only." - simply states that only humans can use it while saying nothing about the results of its use (setting aside the issue of just what a "half-giant" IS)

Again, I don't care what JKR may have meant, she's not a good author and lacks the ability to properly state propositions. If that's for the purpose of "in-character" knowledge, that would be fine, but she'd have to explain it elsewhere where the character's understanding was flawed or what the actual meaning was. Even a British author can't escape English being English.

i can also jump off the bridge. but i shouldn't because it will probably kill me. but probably not. and also the bridge wasn't built for that. nevertheless, i can! and in the case of p potion, i will even survive that and look like a cat.

I remember that scene as well and thought about it for quite a while before answering. But i eventually decided polyjuice cannot be used to change species, as essentially Hermione was still human but with cat features, and not a full on cat. Meaning the potion is not able, nor meant to turn a person into another animal. I got all those quiz questions right incidentally, which is amazing since i'm not a big Potter fan.
