Ray tracing : better without ?!?
I just spent half an hour comparing with/without ray tracing and without it's definitely better.

I have an RTX 3080 TI, which is supposed to support this technology: with ray tracing, there is more light reflection for sure, but this light is grainy and really ugly, when other lights are smouth and natural.

Am I the only one noticing this? Did I miss something?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer RT on.

Interesting. Question of taste...

It's 1000 times better on but the reflections are not working as they should. While some areas are clear and accurate, most are blurry, pixelated and show error like in light bleed or a extreme bloom type effect. I don't think that is normal. Below is ultra settings for RT reflection and it's blurry - that is probably not the best example to show but you will see puddles of water or blurry pixlated reflections that looks like noise or film grain mixed with the image.

OK, so not only a question of taste.

Enjoy unstable frame rates and more crashes.

I had a 3080Ti before I upgraded to a 4090 and while the 3080Ti is a fantastic card it isn't the greatest with RT and often isn't worth using it imo.

This game looks great at times and others I wonder how much RT is improving it but when it looks great it really looks great. But I would not hesitate to turn RT off if I was having issues or low FPS as the game still looks great.

But holy crap when this game looks good it looks really good imo

The bigger problem is, that I have after around 30-60 minutes graphic bugs and had to restart the game always ... so I HAVE TO play with RT off

You may wanna give RT High setting a try. Ultra at times seem to be overdoing the effects and introduce unnatural looking results at the end. I ain't sure if the latest patch has fully fixed it yet but High is also what previously helped with the 'light bleeding through walls' issue.

I have had one crash in my nearly 24 hours of gameplay from NPCs loading it. Which is a separate issue on the official forums. I only know this because when I was opening a door a bunch spawned in all at once and I caught 1 frame of a visual of the NPCs bunches before it CTD.

I m well over 120fps in Ultra RT settings, DLSS Quality.1080p only because of the monitors I use currently. The problem is that this game doesn't do a very good job with the reflections. The shadows are amazing especially in HDR. Unstable frame rates far from it. The stuttering does happen but if you increase the shader cache to half your VRAM which would be 12GB and the NVIDIA Control Panel set to 10GB along with adding in some lines in the engine pak file. You're good to go.

These are the lines I added into the Engine pak file. It helped nearly eliminate the stuttering.

Personally, i've found the improvement in visual fidelity RTX brought insignificant compared to the performance hit of about 30 frames per second and chose to have my game run at a steady 120fps without it instead.

This game's implementation of it is bad, otherwise I would have it on.

Raytracing should never be used if you can't max out game without it. You're just wasting extra performance when you could simply just run game at Ultra settings and game would look far better than any low-level raytracing does.

Use a mod to turn off fog, that's your reason why details are shoddy.

RT off and use a Reshade modification

Clarity
Vibrance
NFAA
Local Contrast
MagicHDR
