I have to redownload and reinstall the game every time theres an update!!!

I have tried everything, but when an update hits its stuck on downloading-verifying-downloading-verifying and I cant close nor pause nor uninstall the game. I have to force shut down steam and force uninstall the whole game, and re-download it for it to work. I've downloaded the game 3 times, I have no idea what else to do or why its doing this. I even deleted all of my steam as well as my other games and did a fresh install of all of steam, but the game performs poorly and now I'm concerned that once the next update hits, my game doesn't work again and I have to do a fresh install.

I have barely been able to enjoy the game because I can't run it properly and theres always something I'm trying to fix, this is very frustrating!!

Any ideas?

That's an issue with steam not the game. You can either change your download location in your steam settings and see if that helps, or you need to submit a ticket to Steam.

The only game that is giving me trouble is HL. Every other game I own has no issues. HL just wont update. I have moved it into its own folder on my internal, and changed the primary download to that folder to see if the update goes through and it still broke the whole game.

Sameeeeee wtf 34gb download every dang time there is a 300mb update. ♥♥♥♥♥ getting old! I’m level 18-19 loving the game but sheeesh I can’t stand waiting 20-30 mins to redownload the whole game. And I have fiber imagine people on Wi-Fi they wait hours to play again.

steam updates your game..Not the game itself.

there is no 34 GB download.These are around 300MB downloads and then that data is patched into 34 GB of files.

I have the same issue. I'm just playing the game and it stops working. Then I force it to close, because i can't enter 'settings'. Now, for the first time, it actually tells me to install it again. And it doesn't recognise the fact that it already's got a folder on my laptop. I'm afraid to re-install it, because I don't want to wait for 8hours again AND I don't want my game to freak-out, because it would have two different game folders.

Not a HL problem, this is a steam/your pc issue
