Please, someone, kill this pointless / mindless mini game and let us proper open locks with magic. Thanks in advance.

We need a QOL update that will enable us to turn off the mini game. It's really annoying after 20 locks.

Just keep tapping A, this actually works better than trying to time it

(Talking about the Daedulus Key right?)-
No, the lock picking of regular locks.

Honestly, never played any game with lockpicking where it didn't feel annoying after 10+ times. Lockpicking in games should not be a minigame, simply a check if you have high enough of a certain stat.
Opening locks has never been as good as in Oblivion, at least there the skill mattered to both manual and auto-opening, and if you were good enough you could open any lock with a bad skill level if you wanted.

Now all lockpicking minigames are just annoyances.

You're correct, but at least many of those made you feel like you're lock picking, Skyrim as an example, hell I even got good at the lockpicking in Kingdom Come. This has got you just spinning your wheels. It should just work like magic and pop. Especially in a Hogwarts type game.

You're not lying.
I'm also desperately looking for such a mod. The minigame is so tedious that I've started to dread lock encounters.
Switching back and forth between Hard and Story Mode would be equally annoying.

Set it to story difficulty and you can.

great mod - thank you modding community. makes sense to open when you cast the spell, it sits completely within the lore of the world - but if there is a modder that can make it more difficult i think on the flip side it would add another layer to the game if you are that way inclined.
this "feature" is definitely one of the dumbest ideas in game history. you're a wizard who can literally conjure shi* out of thin air. but an unlock spell doesn't actually magically unlock anything... because ... it allows you to manually pick a lock! if this was traditional software development this would be easily spotted as a bad feature some pm forced in so they could claim they deserved a promo for shipping something. not sure if game development has that same disease.

100% agree with you! Applying lock-picking mechanic (not even a decent one) to magic is an extremely dumb idea.

No one is lamenting that it's a hard game. People are aggravated that it's so mindlessly and pointlessly simple, which makes it tedious when you're opening dozens of locks. It adds nothing to the game other than a needless headache.
I guess my patience isn't as thin. At that point you could also say locks are pointless altogether, which yes they are, but it takes 5 seconds, prob about as long as the Devs would make the spell animate and actually unlock. Might shave off a whole 2 seconds with a mod X]

Yeah, but when you have to do it for like 10 times in a row, it makes it really tedious. They should have just made one, like to show the idea of what is happening, and let the rest be automatic.
Still not as bad as lockpicking in Oblivion...even tho lockpicking usually goes faster in that game? XD I'd actually really love to know why they put that mechanic in this game to begin with. With Elder Scrolls, you're actively manipulating the mechanism for a lock--whereas it's just good ol' magic in HP. Now I need a proper Q&A where we get answers on this one specific thing.
