lock picking

htf do you do lock picking i followed the very vague guide on the screen and nothing seems to happen, all the tutorials i found are for console so that doesnt help at all

You move the 2 rings until a green and red light show up. You can move one ring at a time get the light then do the other ring. Hold it for like 2-3s and you unlock

I haven't reached that point yet myself, but there is a quest in the game that will unlock aloe hamora (sorry for spelling) , and then you will be able to unlock level 1 locks. You can upgrade it to unlock the higher tear locks later.

Have you tried googling it. If you spin them around at certain point it will spin the relevant gear (the ones with the lights on them)

im not asking how to unlock the spell I am asking htf do i do the minigame

You use alohomora to pick the lock...

When you turn the rigns, each one will have a point at which it will start spinning the circles.
red ring will spin the inside circles, green will spin the little circles outside right bottom.
When you turn the red and green circles you wil lsee the others "twitch" a bit that way you know thats there the point is at.

On controller it should vibrate when you find the correct point.

Q+E Control outer green ring. A+D control inner red ring. You need to rotate both rings, one at a time is okay, until both the gears in the very center start rotation and light up red, AND the gears in the bottom right will rotate and light up green.

There is also an audio queue when you hit the "sweet spot". ALSO, there are only 8 positions around the lock that can be the correct spot. N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW. Put them in one of those 8 compass directions and profit.

So, you do have 2 rotating rings outer and inner. at the random certain position when you rotate outer ring that outer gears in bottom right corner will rotate too. Similar for the inner circle. you can just press E and see when gears will move a bit then rotate back a bit and they rotate again. repeat for the other ring. Outer ring-outer gears. Inner ring - inner gears. Take about 10 sec when you get used to.

yeh i can easily get the red and green lights into the gaps simply by moving each ring, what i dont know is what exactly are you ment to do with it as the game doesnt tell what to do just use AD & QE to move the rings

you twist the gears until you see the other gears move, then hold them in that position so they both move at the same time, the tutorial was terrible

You just gotta wait a bit if both lights are lit up the lock will unlock itself

Rotate the big gears until the little ones start to twitch. Then finely adjust them to the point where they started moving and let it sit.

You'll need to repeat this for each gear.

the moment i turn a gear the light goes into a gap and sits there

the outer ring will show a green light and the inner ring will show a red light. move each ring until the red light in the gear and the green light in gear start moving. you will know you found the "spot" when the gears start spinning. when they start spinning, hold it there and the lock will open. Hope that helps!
