How to import a save in another account?
Hi!

I played HL on my BF's account and I decided to buy the game. I'd like to import my save in my account.
I've found mine in local (C:\Users\emma_\AppData\local\HogwartLegacy\saved\savedgame), but when I put it in the new file created by my own Steam Account (same path but not the same file), it's not recoignized.
My save is named HL-01-00.sav, but the game doesn't want to us it.

How can I import my save in my game?

Thanks people!

Its tied to the SaveGameList.sav file. Here is how to do it:
1. Remove your save file from the folder and keep it somewhere safe.
2. Start a new game as you normaly would.
3. Create a manual save as soon as the game allows it and close the game.
4. In the savegame folder there should be multiple files, all named something like: "HL-??-??.sav". Look for a file named "HL-00-00.sav", "HL-01-00.sav", "HL-02-00.sav" or similar. The first number indicate the save slot. 00 is the first one.
5. Delete the file you found and rename your save file to the same name and put it back in the folder. Now when loading the manual save using the slot you created, your save game should be loaded.

The easiest way to transfer your save files over is to first start a game on the new copy of the game you wish to bring old save files to. You don't even have to progress very far in the game. Just far enough where it has created an auto save. I quit directly after Fig and you end up after the carriage crash. You will notice that in the save file folder located at (C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\SaveGames will be a folder with a unique 8 digit number for a name. Remember this number (copy it is the best way) and then proceed to delete the entire folder. Now go to the same folder of the copy of the game you wish to bring over. It will have its own unique number. Copy the entire folder and place it where the one you deleted was. Once copied over, rename the folder the exact number it had originally (the one you deleted). Voila! You have now successfully transferred over your saved files. I did this successfully from a pirated copy over to a legit copy.

i'm about to try this method, i have one question though: if the pirated version i have had the DLC with the cosmetics, do i need to buy the legit version with the DLC as well? i'm just afraid of the saves not working if i don't have the DLC.
