Game won't start

The game just won't start, it says I need DirectX runtime. I went and installed it and the program said I've already have it. I tried resetting windows, tried repairing the files on steam, got the latest patch.. If I try installing direct X again it again says I already have runtime and crashes. Super annoying having a game I cannot play.. Any advice?

If I check Windows registers I find this:

Maybe something gone wrong with Video Drivers after last update

Some people are having this issue (me included) but not many enough so the devs think it is importante... let's make some noise.

At the bug report, please fix your Reproducibility. Right now it says "I cannot reproduce". Change to "5 - Always".

I backed up my C:// steamlibrary folder then deleted and reinstalled steam. Works fine now. I had this problem last night and it was with all games not just Hogwarts Legacy.

I was having this DirectX problem after I disabled "control flow guard" following a guide. As soon as I undid it, the problem was fixed.

If you followed the same guide then try this:

Search on your computer for "Exploit protection"
Remove Hogwarts Legacy exe file

Sure thing! Glad it worked. I was doing some troubleshooting and realized I had basically caused this problem for myself, haha. Enjoy!
