Can't launch the game

Hi, I have around 4h played on HL but I have an issue everytime I re-open steam. When I started to download the game this was already here, the game keeps doing a "verification" of the files (even during the first time I installed the game).

Don't know how but then I managed to play the game. But after closing the app or steam, when I wanted to play the game a second time, steam opened and started to verify the files (I did nothing, no mod). Steam crash for a bit then the verification continue (don't know how I played the game but there was no issue for the third session).

And when the verification is over it restart again and just doesn't stop doing this.
I am writing this and the verification is actually in background, steam just crashed for several minutes when the verification said "9minutes left", then it restarted with "14h left" and continued with this (3days..., and last night it was "more than a year"????).
And a few seconds after it crashed again "steam doesn't respond", and said that the file was "corrupted". Steam completly crashed after this message.
Now I have restarted steam but it continues with "validation". I put it on pause and it appears to be like an update but I didn't saw any update or patchnote, and when I restart, it is a"validation" of 75Gb and if it finish this there is a "reorganisation" of around 340Mg (I think it is for the dlc with the hippogryph) and then the mess continues.

I hope I explained so that it's understandable

I fixed it by deleting the corrupted filed that was causing it to verify over and and over from the steam folder and it downloaded a new one.

Does it give you an error that a file is corrupt?

Yes "pakchunk10-WindowsNoEditor.ucas"

Same as my problem. Delete it and let it reinstall it. Fixed the issue for me

Reinstall....the game? What about progress? Can you explain step by step how please?
Also...me downloading the game was around 30 hours rip

It will instal only the file that is missing. Its around 15gb. Progress stays because you dont delete Save files. And also they are saved on cloud. Just delete the pakchunk.ucas and let the game verify itself and it will start downloading the new pakchunk thats not corrupt
