I would rather that bartender just come out and say he is a male who plays female characters.
Having a someone look feminine and having an obviously masculine voice is jarring and immersion breaking.
If making the voice match the look to keep the immersion, I'm doing it. If they can pretend it's a trans character, I can pretend it's not.
Out of sight, out of mind essentially, but for like.... Voices? Whatever. You get it.
I am really sorry, for everyone offended by this, but it was just absolutely distracting. It was just done badly.

Well, since this game is set in the late 1800's I think it's safe to say she'd be dead in an actual Harry Potter book set sometime in the 20th or 21st Centuries..
If that's the only reason to add it to the book, no.
If it's because the character is indeed interesting, yes.
Also no, being trans doesn't make a character interesting by itself.
