The Wizarding World officially has a trans character
How would you feel if Sirona Ryan the transgender witch was included in the next Harry Potter book:wfmerc:

100% fine with it. It's only her voice that's grating. If I don't have to listen to it, she's not a bad character.

Why is it important for there to be one?

Does it really make sense to try to force these characters into every piece of fiction that gets produced now when it necessarily results in a detraction from the story?

If the character being trans means the character has to be a single dimensional character so everyone knows they are trans and being trans is their entire identity then that character has no more reason to exist in the story than Riker had to be in Star Trek: Nemesis when there was nothing for him to do or necessary contribution to make to further the story.

It would be good. Although the book would probably be written by someone other than Rowling, which I find unlikely.

ps. I have zero problems with Sirona Ryan, other than how empty Three Broomsticks appears most of the time.

i don't even care, i would like to know what potion, or spell he used to become a she.
as its never been inferred that anything other then poly-juice potion can change ones appearance.

everybody likes transformers, hope that they add bumblebee in the future

Sirona should go to Saint Mungos. I'm sure there are magical remedies to fix that voice. Between polyjuice, transfiguration and so on there is no reason for Sirona to have that deep a voice unless she wants it.

Heck, she probably does and I'm happy to call her "she" because magic means that wizards and witches can change the entire body, the organs, and probably even the chromosomes and reproduction organs. They are even taught to turn animals into goblets as 12 year olds.

Lol, you're insane if you think Rowling would include her into her book. This game only advised with Rowling, not directed by her.

Really well said

I don't mind the transgender part, though I think the Mind Arts path of fixing gender dysphoria would have been more preferable from the perspective of in-universe logic.

Also, the books cannot pass voice across. Therefore, the notion that whoever made her body into (the shape of?) a biological female rather well, yet screwed up her vocal cords so badly won't be so jarring as it is in-game.

But what annoyes/amuses me to the equal and immense extent is the idea that in some parallel universe instead of LGBT-bla-bla-bla-plus community, alt-left went with Goths, BDSM enthusiasts, golden shower connoisseurs and gingers. Same arguments, different groups used as both bludgeons and living shields.

Rowling wasn't involved in any way.

You people put too much importance on this characters attributes she's no different than pretty much any other side character the only difference is she is trans who gives a damn.

People saying she's one dimensional say nothing like that about the various random side characters that barely have any development or back story i'm pretty sure there are several characters that don't have as much back story as this one but because she's trans somehow now its a one dimensional character.

People need to get tf over this.

Actually, in the books the voice DOES carry over. It's in the movies that it doesn't.

I mean, I can groan in annoyance and ignore an occasional "- said Sirona in deep baritone that betrayed a titanic hairy set of balls that could crush a man to death were she to turn too abruptly." if the book is good enough.

She was involved. Devs asked her for advice and stuff (so stuff wouldn't conflict). But not having any final says of course.
