but that's what makes the character
she didn't come to Hogwarts until a few years later, had a hard time adjusting (using a wand)
now she sits alone in class and is the "outsider"... now the main character is the new one and she tries to help you, which probably not many of her have done
and in 10 minutes you know her cat's name, her favorite food.. and other stories she doesn't tell anyone else... for the simple reason that she's alone
But instead of being clingy characters she's just generic.
most of the characters are unfortunately only generic (and seem like you have to create a character according to a checklist in order to meet all quotas)
Amit the Ravenclaw type is an Indian stereotype and is more reminiscent of an exaggerated series character
the black Hufflepuff guy (don't know his name right now) with his treasure maps... what character does he have other than just being there? ... and reminds me of Franklin Webb from Jurassic World 2... his role consists of screaming and running away ((for which he got the golden raspberry for worst supporting actor, by the way))
The protagonist is a enigma and suppose to not have any friends because you can choose to turn on them.
There is basicly zero personality behind any of them and most of their traits are limited to:
" i like this class the most because i like stars/beasts/potions/plants".
As for the Sebastian vs Natty question, Sebastian is just straight up a better character, hell one of the few exceptions in this game who actually have a background, story and personality that is somewhat interesting.
I dont know who on earth would pick Natty over Sebastian based on their first interaction with us.
1. Sebastian thought he could defeat us, we made him eat crow, he recognized our abilities and got us into the duel tournament.
2. Natty thought she is better, and after we beat her, she says she underestimated us but instantly goes on how she basicly handicapped herself with a wand and the whole school is just worse than her previous school...nice one, good way to start a friendship.
Instead of letting us have the option to call it a bs and start being on bad terms like we should, for some reason we completely believe it and continue being besties, regardless of our answers/choices
In one quest with him he and my character kept making puns… They were all stupid, but the puns actually made me smile. He is just such a likeable character, and I wish the other NPC’s had more thought put into them.
With Natty I just wish she had more to her. The only thing she had going for her was snippets of her backstory, the fact she’s a transfer student from uganda and she can turn into a horse or something.
Natty is just... a diversity check? She doesn't really have anything going for her other than 'my dad died' and 'I'm not from here.' That's... kind of it.
They all have a backstory, and I rooted for all of them.
That was fun.
Gazelle because she's an animagus, and I think there's plenty there.
Your analogy is spot on.
