Female main character looks ugly in game

I spent 30-40minutes to create a beautiful female character only to see she looks super ugly and wide face in-game. The character looks way different between char creator and in game. However male chars look exactly the same as char creator and in game.

I want to believe this is just a bug and not purposely made. I wish i created male though i regret everything. I'm way too in to change now, if you are starting now, just a heads up for you.

Some are saying this is indeed a bug, others say it was a design choice. I'd like to believe it is a bug myself. Here's hoping.

I was also unable to make a good looking female character. The choices of facial features offered are not those of European descent. For example, many of them have wide/flat noses which you don't find on ethnic Europeans.

It is incredible how bad it is and its not a bug--it is a design choice. The face and head you design is hardly ever represented in the game. Instead we get a hideous sneering hag of a face in most of the game and all cut scenes. When I turn camera looking back at my character he head turns at awkward angles and seems barely attached to the neck. Horrible horrible character design and I believe this was intentionally misrepresented in trailers and marketing for the game. I wanted to play this but this is just so bad

They look good in the cutscenes, but bad/potato quality during the actual gameplay. This will be fixed by a mod that swaps the models and it shouldn't be too hard since the high quality models are already there.

i dunno what computers you be using but my character looked the exact same in creator and ingame

I think if everyone else sees it and you don't, you are probably running a potato.

Yeah, I created a female char first and after 8 hours, restarted and made a dude. If I wanted to look at something hideous, I have a mirror.

nah ive seen the screenshots people are sharing. im running max settings and my character looks accurate and pretty

has no screenshots to prove point, Thus Im inclined to believe it is a bug

To be frank, it has more to do with facial animations more so than being hideous.

I've found most NPCs to have good faces, and my player character fits the same bill. No they aren't super models, but neither are the male faces.

If you think the male faces are way better than the female faces in this game, then you may have some underlying issues that need exploring. Don't be ashamed, it's 2023 :)
