What locket?
There are 2 plot holes at the very start of the game:
1. The only objects that any characters touch at Gringotts are the Portkey and the Vial of Memory. I saw NO LOCKET. Yet Professor Fig keeps mentioning it!
2. Fig also mentions, if you ask him, that no goblins at the bank would side with Ranrock after what happened to the clerk, yet there was obviously a goblin planted by Ranrock that was guarding the older vaults.
Has any game publication disclosed why this happened?

the locket is probably refer to the vial of the memory as professor fig discover an incantation on the "locket" that summon an enchanted map of hogwarts.

also the bank guard was wearing the same ring as the dragon and later seen on trolls, so very likely some form of mind control was used to get the guard to work as an insider... either that or ranrock just put some of his people into the bank as spies, which means they arent gringotts's goblin..

I don't know for sure but I had just assumed that by "locket" they meant the vial that was found with the first memory inside. Not really sure why they'd refer to it as a locket, certainly doesn't look like one, but if I recall that's the only thing they found at Gringotts.

As for the goblins at the bank, the guard had an object around his arm like the collar on the dragon, or the armor on the troll, that glows with that dark energy. Presumably they use it to control them. So while there's no guarantee that there aren't more guards being controlled at Gringotts, I think the question / answer you're referring to was more meant to suggest that the goblins at Gringotts as a whole were not going to willingly participate in the Goblin rebellion.

Both explanations cleared things up. Thanks.

I had trouble figuring this out since the semantics were confusing. On replay in the scene where Fig handles the vial you will see a bail (ring through which a chain passes) at its top. I think it would have been less confusing if it was called a pendant. Dictionary.com says a locket is a small case for a miniature portrait, a lock of hair, or other keepsake, usually worn on a necklace.

The locket contained the portkey, which opened vault 12 in gringotts bank, when the dragon attacked them.

Then why did Fig talk about it in his office as if it were still in his possession?

From memory, thinking about it, that is possible, he still has the cylindrical-like locket.

The vial- it was a bottle with a door on the front of it, it did have means of being worn too. Heres a picture of the locket up close, as you can see theres a hinge on the front left of the emblem at the bottom[i.gyazo.com]
