Question on Gear Please

How can I equip something but not see it on my character and get the benefits of it .I am playing on a PC .I hope this is possible my character looks so stupid at the moment ;-(

On the main gear menu, BEFORE you click on a specific item, hover your cursor over the item and you will see an option to 'change appearance' by pressing F. This takes you to a screen which allows you to select any item appearance that you have either found or earned previously, as well as an option to not have any item appearance at all.

Also if you change the look you still get the upgrade of the first look. So you can del. items in your inventory with out del. the style.

To further mention, every item you pick up/buy gear wise, that you haven't gotten before, instantly gets put in that "skin/transmog" list. So if you felt like it, you could buy something from the shop then turn around and sell it (at a loss, ofc) just to get the transmog skin.

I wish the game let you know if you already had a skin tho. There are so many that sometimes I was going in and out of shop menu to chr/transmog menu over and over just to check...

The scarf in the transmog appearance option has a don't show option so you can wear one for the benefits but not have it show on your character. Dunno if all items have that but i know for sure scarf does b/c i'm using it.
