Beast breeding bug?

I've got several offspring from all 12 creature types, but the achievement still isn't working.
I suspect it has to do with the fact that several of my critters are named quest animals that I *ahem chose to keep instead of returning.

Maybe they don't count towards the tally?

sounds like a bug. An offspring is an offspring shouldn't matter that one of the animals was kept from a quest.

Should count.
It's Breed 10 Unique beasts. So if you breed each species minus the Phoenix would should have no issues.

There's an in game goal and a Steam achievement; the Steam achievement requires you to breed ALL animals in the game that you can, the in-game goal only requires 10.

Last one you can breed is the Graphorn after San Bakar's Trial. If not, maybe try re-breeding each one again.

Thanks for the tip. I just captured a new graphorn, some knifflers, and some jiriclaws. (Those were all the "special" or already named creatures I had kept from quests.) I also just realized I only have the two included hippogriffs and haven't got any extra, so I'll go fetch some more of those too...

I wasn't expecting to do so much animal husbandry in a game about wizards...

I think I found the bug root cause^^ But I was like you and started to breed everything again twice to be able to get the achievement. I did breed the Puffskein very early in the game, maybe at a point it does not count yet or something (before learning how to breed in game for sure)

Yeah. The Puffskein was in my second batch of offspring when the achievement worked correctly. Those were also the first animal I'd moved back to inventory to sell in Hogsmeade.
I wonder if by moving the offspring to inventory it screwed up the count?

I've breed everything (except phoenix of course, which cannot be bred), 3 times each and still no achievement. Very disappointed.

I didn't work for me either and I've bred everything 3 times. ( I have ALL of them so that is not the issue). Seems to be bugged out.

^You could try "resetting" your vivariums by changing the lighting in the Room of Requirement. It's a long shot, but this tip (from wb games forums) does work if you have any collection chests missing or broken in the vivariums.

Maybe it can reset the breeding counts as well?

Same as one of the collection chests in moonstone garden its glitched as well
