[SPOILERS] I want to understand the "Bell puzzle" in Clagmar castle
So I got the map within Henrietta Refuge:

And I could understand that each bell goes up one scale, so the first 3 were very easy to understand.

But the 4th and beyond seems weird for someone who doesn't understand musical sheets like me.

I've tried to be creative and use Flipendo for the upside down note but I guess I got TOO creative.

I gave up after a while and found a guide online that just pointed the orders of the bells for me:

But this looked like such a great opportunity to learn basic music sheet understanding because a lot of games I play have puzzles that involve that.

Are there any musicians around here that could explain it to a complete noob like me?

In this puzzle, the bells on the left are the lines, and the bells on the right are the spaces. Whether the tails are up or down makes no difference. In general, the solid ones are quarter notes, and the hollow ones are half notes, which indicates how long the note is held. Hope that helps.

Just use basic cast to hit the bells in the right order

I already knew the first part of what you're saying here, but the latter is something I didn't. So basically whether they are upside down or not makes no difference in this case.
And the hollow and halfs have no difference for THIS puzzle. I see, thank you.

I already said in the post that I solved the puzzle, that's beyond the point.
