Finally finished it.. that ending was *spoilers*
HORRIBLE. Lets start at the beginning of this.. these keepers are forcing us to go through pointless trials while a army of goblins and dark wizards are murdering people.. Yeah lets just wait for the picture in the portrait and go to class, every single "memory" was basically the same thing, should have just had it all shown from the start.. "boohoo my student turned insane, dont turn out like her!" the hell are we doing magic parkour courses instead of having mentality tests or questioning the characters morality? lol. The only logical reason is "we need a time waster to distract you and make the story feel longer".

Also.. how was ranrock always a step ahead of our character, didn't seem explained, or was it that he had already found all the storages of power that he was only looking for the last one? which was the only time he seemingly got help from his brother.. also brings up the question of wtf was his brother even trying to do? Pretty sure he wasn't captured, plus was saying "i was bringing the book to (us)".. why then did you head to ranrock?? so confused plus his death seemed way to fast, a small push and hes dead? our character didn't even think to check him just straight up yeeted out there.

Figs death.. what did he even die from? Depending on the fall I literally can't see him being damaged plus for crying out loud hes a dam wizard.. can levitate fine. I know this is some weak knee teen game but sheesh show a body wound or some blood somewhere

And lets not forget all the teachers literally showing up in the HIDDEN UNDERGROUND dungeon that no one should have even known about, to fight a goblin army that magically appeared, MAYBE all stuffed in those mining machines but you dam well can't tell me they stuffed trolls into those. Plus with all these teachers knowing about it now, how the hell can it be a "forever kept secret" anymore

Then theres the morality problem.. no one in this game seems to mind us murdering armies of monsters, poachers, goblins, and dark wizards as long as your not using unforgivable curses, honestly the entire game feels like it lacks emotion, only really felt any emotions was from sebastians questline

Could complain about a billion other things, but yeah 6/10 game at most. Good graphics/art, "ok" controls, short dull/monotone story, copied ubisofts "collect all this junk" and somehow made it even more tedious than them

Thoughts? agree? disagree?

I think other than the killing curse, and quest related deaths, I dont think you are strictly "killing the enemy", kind of like the meme of Kiryu never killing anyone in Yakuza.

I'd say with our characters dialogue after battle and during missions "they got what was coming to them" really feels like they are killing them, doesn't help that the game doesn't even mention anything about the baddies we beat up so can only speculate lol

A lot of things in the story just don't add up. Why are we completing the trials if we can already wield ancient magic since hogsmeade and the only way to boost it is through hotspots and clothing traits? Why are there 5 vaults? Where did so much pain to store come from? What happened in between taking the pain away from Isidora's father and the encounter below Hogwarts? Why one of the vaults is Isidora's? Did she work with the Keepers for a time, cuz they suggest they never did? How come everyone is able to access those stores and use what's essentially traces of ancient magic? Why Isidora's portrait was burnt? What are the Keepers hiding? Did she really take emotions from students? We did not see even a single one. Why in Charles Rookwood's memory Isidora's father is healed by her magic but in San Bakar's memory he's essentially turned into a mindless zombie?

All of those questions are left unanswered, supposedly by design. Leaving us no room for agency or roleplay - we are simply following the road from A to B.

The Isidora father part we did see or well.. the teacher said she took not only the pain but all the emotions, we did see 1 student leaving the place in the memory when they went to murder her, but the rest is good questions, I forgot some parts because it was to easily forgettable for me :steamsad:

The trials were for you to prove yourself worthy of being a Keeper, not of using ancient magic.

The stores of magic came from Isadora using her ancient magic to steal the pain from others off screen, it is strongly hinted she is doing it A LOT. The final straw was using it on students, which forced the confrontation below the school.

The portrait was either burnt by the Keepers to keep the secret, or by Ranrok/Rookwood to stop it from telling others what they are doing.

It was an okay ending... I loved the game but I just wanted more and was a bit baffled when I learned that it was it. I hated how learning AND using the unforgivable curses did nothing storywise.
Sebastian's sidequest was by far my favorite but it felt unfinished.

Any story that is based on someone being unable to get over a death that happened a decade ago immediately loses me. People do get over death. It is part of the human condition. People are not going to be killing themself over a death that happened a decade ago.

Thats extremely subjective, not everyone just "gets over it" most just accept it and bare with it, every person is different but i'd expect most aren't insensitive monsters. But I guess it also depends what you meant by get over death, personally I can still easily shed tears for people i've lost 10+ years ago and have them on my mind always..

But anyway, you comment has legit nothing to do with the game at all.. soo.. why did you even type that? lmao

Fig said he informed the others of the plot. This is repeated twice in dialogue even. Fig also said it might have been a mistake to not inform Ms Weasley earlier.

The blood complaint is stupid and I think you know it is. You can complain you want about "show me some broken bones!11" when a Teletubby topples over but you know that isn't possible within the constraints the media was developed. You knew this before purchasing the game.

If you don't know why Ranrok was ahead of you as the story progressed you might have actually wanted to watch those "memories that are all the same". Because it is clearly explained in one of them.

The story is alright. Almost all of these posts about it being "HORRIBEL VERY NO GOOD" are people who either didn't even pay attention to it or expected something unrealistic. You are unique in the sense that you combine both.

Storywise it makes no sense, the teachers that haven't even been down there even once teleporting in? plus would make this "oh so grand secret" not a secret anymore

?? I'll agree the media is weak minded and dumb these days so I guess expecting them to show blood or a wound or any indication at all that would have shown him being damaged is "stupid". Even though we are killing people with spells..

Care to enlighten me then ol wise one? Already admitted the story was dull as hell, obviously I probably missed/forgot some bits while I was running around collecting 200+ of bullcrap collectibles and playing fetch quests between the your "alright" story

The goblin that made the silver containers for the magic Isodora extracted told about the story, which later led to Ranrok laying claim to it, as per goblin culture (if they made it, they consider it theirs).
