It actually wouldn't have been too difficult to include house points instead of a morality system for all the side quests you engage in in the school and surrounding area. Where you can be nice and helpful to earn some points, or kinda mean and greedy to benefit yourself (or somewhere in between).
To be fair, I heard there's some end game content for the house cup. But I wouldn't get your hopes up about it being fun and exciting.
But, yeah, if they make another game, and especially if it's a coop game where you can play together as a few students, that they put more emphasis on school things like that.
I always suspected that as a kid, but never knew it. For games meant at kids, it makes sense
Presumably every other kid in your house is also gaining/losing points. So is the game just going to randomly add and subtract points all the time?
Could be a fun RNG Mechanic?
IE - The Broom Races, Ball Game, etc.
That is something missing from Hogwarts sadly. The House vs House interactions. Even if they fleshed it out a little bit, could be fun.
