How to find side quests on the world map

On the map there is an indicator on the "world map" button which means i have side quests available on the world map. But i cant find the quest. Is there a way to find it, if it's not in the journal?

I don't know of any way to find such quests. There is some huge (or at least it seems that way) number of simple quests in the world, which are revealed when you travel nearby quest giver, if you haven't uncovered that part of the map, you probably can't find it.

There are two basic ways: if you have an active quest in your list, you can select it and that will highlight it on the map (though for some quests they specifically don't and the quest will indicate why that's the case...usually because you have to explore to find something)

The other way is to look for quest makers on the map, usually these will be side quests, that look like grayed out shields. If you click on them, you'll be guided to the quest giver and then the quest will be in your quest list if you accept it.

There are also dialogue quest markers; these look like grayed out dialogue balloons on your map.

*edit - on the map, the buttons for Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and the world will have a black flag show up on them if there are available quests in those areas.
