Complete Your Wizard’s Field Guide Step for Preparing for your O.W.L.S.
I would greatly appreciate anyone with actual insight on what is required to complete that step and unlock the O.W.L.S. cutscene. Every time I try to look it up online I am bombarded with useless information and endless fake guides and clickbaits meant only to get you to scroll past their ads.

I’ve seen anything from needing to just check your mail to finishing ALL challenges to completing ALL collections. And I’ve seen people who claim to have 100%ed every single aspect of the game and still not being able to unlock it. It’s really frustrating at this point, both the lack of information online and the lack clarity in game. At this point I don’t even know if it’s worth my time trying to complete everything because there are a number of bugs, particularly with field guide pages that don’t seem to register even though they have been collected. Also collecting all the gear is pure RNG and there’s no telling how long it will take.

Again thanks in advance and please only reply to this if you have actually completed the task and know what is required. Rumors and second hand information will only add to the confusion.

Edit: So there is no in-game reward or additional cutscene unlocked for completing the aforementioned step. Feel free to do your House Cup quest as soon as you hit level 34 if you don’t want to finish the rest of your field guide, you wouldn’t be missing out on anything.

AFAIK you need to 100% every area of the field guide to get top marks in the owls.

What does ”every area” mean? Only the challenges tab has percent values. The collections tab only has fractional numeric values i.e. 9/10. Atm I am at 100% in all challenge categories save Quests. I have a couple side quests to wrap up and then I will be at 100% overall progress in the challenges tab. I guess I will update this thread at that time if no one else replies.

Look at Hogsmeade, Hofwarts, and the the towns. They all have field guides.
I'm trying to find my last one fir Hogsmeade now. I'm 54/55 and not hearing any dings and I swear I've gone everywhere.

Did you get all the flying pages? Even the ones near the edge of the town where it changes from showing you're in Hogsmeade? The borders extend a little further than I would have initially guessed, so even with the max distance revelio, they didn't show up when I was still in the town 'proper'.

You need to complete nothing. Well..except the main story, duh.
You literally just need to reach lvl 34 to unlock it.

complete main story, talk weasley and its not matter will you get 100% field guide before real end bc weasley say same words.. which is very weird. Also its say in quests what you need and there is level 34. so yeah need to be 34.

Yeah, from what I've heard... you need to complete all the challenges in the field guide to unlock the "true ending," which is your house winning the cup for the year.

That % tally at the bottom of your summary page in-game? Gotta get that to 100% by doing every challenge. I'm currently at 98% or so with 3 main quests and 7 side quests to go.

Collections don't have much to do with it. You get an achievement if you fully complete your collections, but that's it. Not having every single bauble and trinket won't stop you from the true ending. Need to get that 100% of challenges done for the field guide. Incidentally, you'll hit level 40 at that point so you'll get the achievement for that, too.

So I was able to confirm that there is no additional cutscene if you complete every part of your field guide. The same exact cutscene plays out regardless of whether or not it’s been completed. I had assumed that the O.W.L.S. would be portrayed like in the books as a separate exam administered by Ministry officials as something separate from regular exams but the cutscene only has you taking your regular end of year exams with the Hogwarts professors. In other words there is no in-game reward for completing the aforementioned step. Feel free to do your House Cup quest as soon as you hit level 34 if you don’t want to finish the rest of your field guide, you wouldn’t be missing out on anything.
