A Hogwarts Legacy spin-off sequel.
You're an adult witch or wizard transferring to teach at Hogwarts. On your way there, you get into an accident, because obviously dragons are attacking carriages as a plot point in this game, too. You come to at the Hospital Wing in Hogwarts, in one piece, but with some memory loss. This is the game mechanic to put you through a tutorial, as you re-learn the basics of the spells from Hogwarts Legacy 1, the gameplay in general, the broom flying, etc.

After you've healed up and you take your place as, well, which course would you teach? Maybe there could be several choices, you could be a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher and choose to indoctrinate your students with the Unforgiveable Curses. Maybe you're a Potions teacher or you're a Seer here to teach Divination. Or maybe you're just REALLY good with plants. So many options!

As part of your onboarding, you take on a couple of students in a mentoring kind of way. The three of them seem to have a penchant for trouble, and you soon find yourself roped into the Main Story. You take on the baddies while juggling your duties as a professor, keeping secrets from the Headmaster and your fellow professors, and of course the Ministry.

Yes, there can be romance with professor Sharp or professor Garlick. That's the whole reason for this spin-off, but of course it won't be marketed as such.

Who's in?

Okay I'm sold, when I read the first paragraph my first two thoughts were that I'm teaching everyone the unforgivable curses and telling them that 'unforgivable' is just a buzzword that people are using to try and control what they learn.

You have to be your own judge of when you will or won't resort to desperate means when those that you love are in danger. You have to decide what's right and wrong for yourself not blindly follow someone else's rules unquestioningly.

I then immediately thought that I'm absolutely going to ask out Professor Sharp, he is dangerously cute lol.

From all the accidents that can happen. You had reuse the one from this game.

Yes, because I like a good throwback / reference to prequels. That way, people who pick it up for the first time, will just have a dragon attack on their hands, but people who've played HL1 will go, "heh, I remember that, good times".

Or it could be any other accident.

add in house building in hogsmead so i can have my own home and family since romance is a thing, and im sold.

I honestly wanted that for THIS game, too.

I mean, we know virtually nothing about our main character. Where do they go on Hogwarts holidays? Why can't we have a small house in any of the small villages to decorate and live in? That'd open up the bedroom furniture I so desperately want but doesn't make sense in the Room of Requirement.

Dragons, huh? Nice idea, but I don't think people want to be teachers, because, you know, teachers have responsibilities. Everyone wants to be students and put professor's ass on fire! :steamhappy:

I mean, you can'at really speak for "people", can you? There's at least two people in this thread so far who'd like to be a teacher. Or at least an adult otherwise.

There aren't enough games where you get to teach people. And kicking goblinoid butt while also making sure your charges get passing grades? +1 from me. I can't think of a better setting.

Who says Wizarding World heroes have to always be kids all the time? We know that's not true.

Right? Sure, we wanted to be Hogwarts students when we were kids reading the books. Now we're adults who want to teach those kids from the next generation!

Not at Hogwarts because we know the school and area too well and there would be nothing new to explore. How about a different school? Maybe the one where Natty's from or somewhere else?

Interesting! But then why would professor Sharp be there?

I wish the next game(s) to blend in with the canon + explore other schools.

Hogwarts 2: Team up with Newt etc., fight Grindelwald.

Hogwarts 3; Team up with Harry etc., fight Voldemort.

Hogwarts 4: Fight everyone.

I'm hesitant to cheer on games that recreate the original source material when there is SO MUCH ELSE they can do with this franchise.

Oh but i don't mean to "recreate", but rather to "butcher" it as we're the main character now lol. 1 vs 2-ing Grindelwald and Voldemort sounds fun and bloody.

I'm thinking to also carry over the MC from Legacy to these titles, using sleep magic or something.

I'd personally prefer for the games to add to the canon, not change it.
