This is a hard one to solve a walkthough even says its hard to solve
https://gamerant.com/hogwarts-legacy-how-solve-bird-in-the-hand-ruins-puzzle/
because the only clue I have is "it has to do with light and darkness" ..
at least the other puzzles gives me more clues..
Like what Merlin's beard is the the southernmost slot and what is the the slot to the west?
Its not like there's a Merlin's beard compas in the game period!
That is as helpful as as box of Every-flavour beans. I need to know excatly which icons to put them near!
Dont remember exactly how it went.
The door should have 2 glowing symbols.
Use accio to move the pillar to the opposite site of those symbols (on the small circles on the floor) should light up the symbol. once both are in place the door should open.
tf is so hard on this?
the chess caves are even harder

A snowflake and an Eyesymbol or something?
before I abdoned the quest I just barley realized that there was an inner circle and outer circle. But that doesn't tell me where I'm suppose to put each one too?
a snowflake and someting that looks like a symbol from ancient times. Maybe Egyptian at the very most.
like am I suppose to put the outpilliar new the snowflake or am I suppose to put the inner piliar near the snowflake? If I can solve that part of the puzzle the other half of the puzzle will make sense

If you still have not figured it out, I would first give you some tips that made if very easy.
1. Do it during night, then you will see lines on your puzzle, like on the wall.
2. Notice how they have even given you a huge hint, by the fact that you can not put the pillars onto the symbols if you want to try that... the "marks" where you can drag them simply does not line up, but on the opposite side of the pillar with the moonstone, the marks on the ground will line up togheter with the marks.
If you still do not understand what you have to do, here is what you have to do.
1. You look at the wall and identify your two marks.
2. You move the two pillars (it doesnt matter which one, the inner and outer circle is just so you can move them around the "moonstone pillar" without them blocking each other), so that they are lined up with your marks on the oppsite side of the "moonstone pillar". So that you could have put a line from your mark, trough the mid pillar (moonstone pillar) and to the pillar you are moving.
3. Make sure you place the moving pillars ontop of the correct "gray marks on the ground" the one that will be on the oppsite side of your mark.
It really easy actually, consider an analog watch... If your mark is 3, then you place the pillar on 9, because 9 is on the oppsite side of 3. if your mark is 12, then you place the pillar at 6.
And you got two marks, therefor the 2 pillars, one for each.
Good luck!
The puzzle isn't even that hard. Have you got shadows turn down to low or something?
