The fact we don't have to go to a Floo first to use it really kills any immersion they tried to create with the feature.

Because there is an area of the map we HAVE to use the Floo, or fight through each time instead of fly also blows.

Unlock - yes, that's important. To use one it would have been more 'lore-friendly' to have to visit 'one to get to another' instead of 'apparate' to it's location.

As is we can't do that whilst in certain locations already. I'm guessing there was a need to place a geographical boundary in the map (no fly zone/tunnel) to help with loading the world.
