I am too autistic to understand the door number puzzles, can someone explain what I am supposed to do? I don't even understand the concept, the game does not explain it

Autist here. The door number puzzles are easier than they appear to be. Essentially, the big number in the middle, is the number that you want the smaller numbers and symbols that are around it, to add up to.

You'll also notice a bunch of symbols around the door. Each of those symbols correspond to the digits 0-9. You'll want to use those symbols where they're needed in the mathematical equation to add up to the bigger number in the middle.

There is a piece of paper you'll find that lists the numbers that are represented by each symbol.
What a did was take a photo of it without having to keep opening the inventory.

The animals around the door represent the numbers 0 to 9 and you have to figure out the missing animal for each triangle make sure the triangle on the board matches the dice you're rolling for too, so if the triangle you're trying to figure out is pointing down you roll the dice on the triangle that points down, and then the same for the the one that points up

I am autistic and I had no problem figuring that out, took me a little while, but people without autism also didn't understand so this has nothing to do with disability :steamdeadpan: which makes me think you don't have it if you have to blame something such as autism. A lot of autistic people especially those with asperger's are a lot more intelligent than your average joe.

I did the same thing at first but it actually gets easier than that. The symbols have a distinguishing feature to tell you what number it is. 3 headed dragon, a tarantula-looking thing with only 5 legs showing, a medusa-head thing with 9 tentacles, unicorn (1), mustached-dragon with 2 horns. Only two I haven't really deciphered but easy enough to remember once you realize the other seven are the walrus-looking thing that is 0, and the owl-looking thing that is 4.

im "high functioning" but i just cant grasp this, I cant imagine what else it could be, not every autist is some weapon of hyper intelligence, ♥♥♥♥ off with that accusatory clownworld ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Autist here, just wanted to say thanks for being awesome and helping others out! :-)

A short recap for people who don't want to watch a whole video:

The symbols around the door count upwards starting from 0.

Substitute each symbol in the ? and ?? circles with the corresponding number.

Substract those numbers from the total number in the middle.

The answer is the symbol that stands for the solution to the math problem.

Took me way too long to figure out it's 0-9 and not 1-10

This was one of the last bits of information I acquired NATURALLY through playing the game AND exploring. I figured it would present itself and it did.

I wasn't thrilled about this game promoting breaking and entering to young people as a game mechanic so I waited before having to follow through the Unlocking Spell quest line. Once I was taking the fun out by systematically exploring Hogwarts castle for those 'moons' I stumbled upon this solution,

I can't wait to see the sales numbers for the first game that plays itself and people just watch . . . . .

Edit: I guess I could help by explaining all but 2 of the symbol/icons gives their value by looking and COUNTING. 4 and 7 makes no sense to me so I just memorized them. Count horns, legs/appendages, heads - it's not rocket science - it's magic science.

There is a picture halfway down the page that I personally saved and pull up when I'm playing, that denotes which symbols are worth which amount.

I don't think understanding a door puzzle has anything to do with autism at all.

once you learn the numbers, you can realize that the pictures around the door frame are arranged 0 to 9 in order from left to right.

so technically every door has the number list printed for you.

also, as an autist, i can't understand you had an issue with this, like the easiest puzzle out there. it's literally the first equation you learn in algebra, find x. except some of the numbers are symbols, so you need a minor cipher.

the block moving rooms, depulso trials, however? screw those.

Autism can definitely make you think in a very black and white way and not be able to substitute the symbols for numbers and figure math out in your head just like that.
