I do not see any benifit for this, you would just add another stupid timewaster like lockpickminigame and one-by-one selling.
Not necessarily microtransactions. They could have made floo powder an inventory item that you have to buy or make in game, like the mallowsweet leaves perhaps.
Like someone i know who thinks games arent as fun as they used to be and they desperately want that feeling back.. Yet the reason they aren't having as much fun, is due to googling everything there is to know about the game before and while playing it.
So no, i don't think there should be an obstacle, people will just have to learn self control if they don't enjoy using the teleport system but still persists to use it.
The way it works for me is such a relief. I can just explore and game within the sometimes limited slots of time that I have. Furthermore, the fast travel isn't locked in lots of situations like many other games. I really hate it when a game tells me I can't fast travel, even when it makes sense too, just because the game designers want me to grind my way out of something.
