Stuck at 35 fps no matter what settings I choose.
I set everything to low in game, everything is disabled including v-sink. Nvidia control panel is set to performance but its stuck at 35 fps.
With all the settings set to quality and high in game I get 35fps no matter what.

thats bc hogwarts is a massive [redacted] game, which has VERY, VERY minimum "cells", its almost all open world aside from load screens that are just for rendering purposes lol

its highly advanced ngl, if you have one thing outdated, youre done

Its not a performance problem. Its capped at 35 fps and never fluctuates. It never hits 36 fps.
Its capped and it shouldn't be.

That is weird. What's your CPU? The game can be very CPU limited, though a rock hard cap is still odd.

Having a proper system to handle todays games may help you out just a little bit.

Razor chroma? Unplugged laptop? Power saving settings?

Sounds like you have another program controlling things in the background like nvidia control panel or other similar app.

Its a desktop and I checked power settings set to max performance. I also checked nvidia control panel and its uncapped.

Overclock your monitor. Not too much. Maybe 30hz. You don't want to black screen it.

Monitor MHz does not necessarily equate to FPS in the game...

I know. Just throwing ideas to try out there. They may trigger new and better ideas or send him down a cool rabbit hole of knowledge and skills to add to his toolbelt.

So you suggest a potentially risky mod to his screen for some knowledge. Why not suggest a real education like playing games on Linux. You will learn a lot more about operating systems and stuff than you could on Windows, if you want to.
Not that installing and playing on Linux is not as easy as on Windows these days.

But you will not run the risk of breaking your hardware.
