Game Not Responding
Hogwarts has been running fine since launch day, but today the game is suddenly unplayable.

On launch the application will immediately become Non-responsive in task manager, and if it does manage to get to the Epilepsy Warning, it will become non-responsive there too. On the extremely off-chance it does get to shader caching, it will also go non-responsive there. Sometimes the music will begin playing like normal during shader caching, but the screen will stay black.

Is this an issue of one of the recent patches? I haven't changed anything within my system in the last 1-2 days that could have resulted in this.

I've tried:
-checking file integrity = fine
-reinstalling the game
-rolling back a video driver to one 10 days before

I don't know if this will help but maybe try reinstalling your game, or verifying your game files?

I think it has to do with the update of the AMD Drivers

I have AMD graphics in my PC, damn!

If it were an AMD driver issue, then rolling back to a driver from 10 days ago should've resolved the issue, but it didn't.

I just got the exact same issue, nothing works so far.
I've tried to let the game stay in black screen with the hope that it's building the shaders in the background, after 1 hour, nothing happens.

This worked for me: Properties on the desktop shortcut and then I disabled the fullscreen optimizations from the compatibility tab

Hi, I'm having the same problem, could anyone share how to solve this?

I was having this problem, but the black screen switched to the loading one after about 2 minutes, basically the amount of time to find this thread and read the posts.I did update AMD drivers. Perhaps the trick is to let it think for a couple minutes.

idk if yu tried doing some of the fixes like adding the game to exploit protection to turn off the CFG which stops antivirus from scanning the game constantly for malware. mainly happens in dx12 titles like this game an dead space. also u can try changing yur gpu clocks for games in the registry. by changing the priorities to high so yur gpu is fully utilzationing its clocking when gaming. windows by default dont have these setting set to high performance. yu have to do it manually, u can find what u need below
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile change pcresponsiveness to 0 for max performance, yurs is set to probably 6 or something higher NEXT Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile\Tasks\Games change priority to 6 , scheduling set to High an set sfio to High, if u do other streaming video recording etc there are also options to max clocks for that as well, but i just do it for my games.yu can also try disabling fulllscreen optimizations an run as admin also turn high DPI scaling on for application

Bro I can't play either. I just updated my drivers to fix issues I was having in Son's of the Forest... now I can't continue playing this game. Hopefully it gets fixed.

does the game close out entirely at the epilepsy screen? if so, i have a potential fix.

Same here, tried validating files, rolling back GPU settings, rebooting, nothing has worked so far. Trying to reinstall now.....we'll see.
