Holiday Spellcraft - Are They Purely RNG?

I want to get the Pumpkins (Fall) and Christmas (Winter) decorations that you can summon in the ROR. So far I have gone through almost 2 playthroughs and have not gotten either.

Is it purely just the luck of the draw or is there something that can improve my odds or a specific place to go to? Any incite will be greatly appreciated.

i got pumpkins during winter then christmas tree. It's random i believe

It is random, I'm 100% sure of that. I've started 3 different characters and on one of them I got a Christmas Tree decoration from a chest shortly after I was able to roam Hogwarts freely.

Ah ok. I got the pumpkins first. It was around Halloween/Thanksgiving and got the Christmas Tree around Christmas time.

Very RNG, I got the Christmas Tree in the fall and the Pumpkins in the winter.

FYI for future reference if anyone searches and finds this thread.

As Ladybug states it does not matter when you can get the holiday decorations. I save scummed and got the Jack O Lanterns then on the next chest I did the same until I got the Xmas tree. I advanced no quests so the game time situation was the same. Purely RNG.
