She just stands at the open gate (which closes by the time I reach her). :P

Yeah, it's a funny glitch. I did find a way to open the door temporarily with Arresto Momentum, giving her enough time to go through, but you gotta do it the way devs intended it.

Yeah, I found that. Still too like RL when you are holding something up and the other person is dinking around instead of moving her butt. ;)
