Mounts REFUSE to land
Having this ridiculous issue with mounts where they just refuse to ever land back on the ground. It's incredibly annoying I'm not moving and I'm holding control and can't land. Doesn't matter if it's a flat surface or what it just refuses entirely.

its very fickle and its why ive completely stopped using them. even if you think and know the surface is flat they still refuse. i just go close to the ground till they start to walk.

Haven't experienced this, myself, but I was watching a livestream (no VOD available right now; sorry) where this happened to someone else. They determined that if ANYONE was agroed to any extent at all -- even if you'd traveled far enough away that you can't see them, as long as they were still cooling off -- the animal mounts just wouldn't land. Might be that problem.

It's the sort of bug you'd expect would effect everyone (unlike all those performance bugs), but it doesn't seem to be reproducible on every single installation -- only some.

Interesting I'll be sure to note this in case it happens again. Thanks.

Quick, genuine query: why does anyone use a mount in this game? I’ve never found a reason or a need to use anything other than my broom.

Honestly, I mostly use the broom too. But Highwing and her fellow hippogriffs fly beautifully in the air - they've done that part better than most winged creatures I've seen in games, with a combination of gliding flight and powered. Also, a Graphorn can be fun to use to play poacherbowl. :)

But, yeah, a broom has all the utility you need so it's mostly for variety.

Yeah broom is definitely my go to now especially after fully upgrading it.

I'm not sure if this the issue as I use controller but the mounts dont land when you press the dismount button like brooms do. You have to hold the "move down" button for it to land and then dismount with the dismount button.

Yeah I'm not using the b button for broom but the Ctrl button for descending.

I have had the same issue over a dozen times with the broom, actually. Had to hover over the ground randomly mashing the dismount button for up to a minute sometimes. Very annoying.

Okay people: You land a mount with the descend button.

(adding: you have to be moving forward some)

Once landed and in 'ground travel mode' you can use dismount.
