Upsetting Performance..RANT?!
RTX 3070 8GB, Ryzen 7 5700x, 16GB RAM

I've literally tried everything to get this game to run efficiently, but it's just not working out. Every fix, every troubleshooting technique and I just don't know if it's my PC or the game itself. I have it installed on a m.2..

Stuttering is the primary issue, I notice my RAM maxing out at times, also I've the preload version.. (Dunno if that's useful information) When casting ancient magic spells, fighting scene the whole game freezes, stutters and makes the overall experience NON-enjoyable. I guess this is a rant post, however I love the game..takes me back to my Wizard 101 roots but maybe upgrading to 32GB will do the trick, idk.. Other games run just fine.

Me too, Ive got lower specs than you but run games like red dead 2 completely fine and lets be honest, red dead 2 looks better and is overall a much more in depth game so idk why my computer struggles so much. Tried all the fixes to no avail, but posting here will just get the elitists out tellin you your hardware is ♥♥♥♥.
That being said i know people who've had better luck when adding more RAM

Have you tried replacing the old DLSS file(s) that shipped with the game? Downloading and replacing the old DLSS file with the updated version fixed my problems - there's a guide in the modding/config section that tells you how to do this. Fixed my problems.
MY RIG : 3070 rtx, Ryzen 7 3600X, 32 GB RAM

8GB video card.

16GB RAM.

Ryzen 7 5700x.

Not a good investment for gaming.

Interesting take with no explanation. Runs everything I need tbh. The 8GBs is pretty eh at times I guess?

Yes, I've tried replacing the dlss file with I believe was the 3.1.1 version. To no avail nothing has changed tbh. May try Ascendio 2.0..

I would definitely up your ram if possible. I have 64gb and didn't run into any stuttering issues, the worst fps I'd get was in the busiest parts of hogwarts, and that was only at ~100 fps vs my normal 144 (everything on ultra, 1440p)

3060 Ti + 5700X + 64GB RAM
Performance is still horrible for me even after adjusting settings.

Clearly you don’t know much about pc gaming…

8gb of vram is fairly high end, and should handle most games just fine at ultra 4k, you don’t actually require more than 8 in most cases.

16 gb of ram, while scraping the barrel is not a “bad investment” because it is easily upgraded.

And how is a 5700x a bad investment?

My game pretty much maxes out at 70 fps (range is 50 to 70 fps tho depending on location). Lowering the resolution doesn't give me a noticeable performance boost lol.. I get same performance at native 480p as i do at native 1440p. I leave game at 4k w/ dlss quality and sharpening at 0.5 since that looks the best and similar performance i was getting at 480p/1440p.

Idk why this happen
