Can't Open Menus In Game After Update

I just updated the game and now I can't open any menu in game. I can't access the map, gear, collections, inventory, etc. The only menu that opens is the systems menu where you can save or load a game. Hotkeys don't work for the individual menus, esc doesn't open them, a controller doesn't even open the menu anymore!

Anyone else experiencing this issue and/or have a fix for it?

EDIT: I fixed my bug with a little marathon-running to east for ~23 minutes. Then my character dropped out of the clouds on the water. After that i was able to open the map and teleport. Now the game is back to normal and i can continue playing. Maybe it helps you too :)

I have the same problem, just with one more bug in common. My character spawns right at the start below the map. I can't use shortcuts there and I can't move. After a few seconds, the character drops down a bit, then I can run. However, getting on the broom doesn't work either, and neither do the shortcuts like yours.

My graphics driver is up to date (AMD Radeon 6700XT), the game has already been reinstalled and the files checked for errors, nothing helped. Really annoying after 35 hours of play....
Does anyone have a fix or know if there will be an update from the developers?

This works!! Just run East and trust the process. You will fall through the cloud and into water, from there you should be able to open your map :)

Just look at my Post. I fixed that with running east until you drop out of the clouds/map. Then you will stay above the water and can teleport and open the menus again.

I don't understand what you mean. I'm in hogwarts. If I run east, I just run into a wall. Or I can go outside and just run east till I hit a mountain. IDK what you mean by dropping out of the clouds/map.

Ah, so you're expecting another issue then I did. My character was spawning under the map after loading a save game and were able to run east without any obstacles. Then I don't have an answer, sorry :/

I also cannot access menus for Inventory, Quest and others. It will only open the main menu. So the game is unplayable. I have asked for a refund. So I am extremely dissappointed, never had such a problem in any games.

Spamming the start button was a work around. If you press it right after the options menu closes and as soon as it goes back to your character it somehow opens the book. I ended up breaking my save further trying to fix it though, so I had to start over anyway. I just beat it not 15 minutes ago, and I'd say it was worth starting over.

I am not sure I understand your instructions, to start the game I have to press the start button and then I guess I cannot press it again. And the option menu is a part of the main menu, sp I do not understand what you mean by "after". But I can only play 8 minutes more, since you can only play 120 minutes or else you cannot get a refund. So I do not dare to lose all the money.

The issue I was happening was when in game, normally pressing the start button opened my field guide, but due to the glitch, pressing start opened the options menu directly, same with select which usually opens the map. Both just opened the options menu. But if I pressed start again, it would close the options menu and return me to gameplay, but if I just spammed the start button, there would be a sweet spot between the transition from the options menu back to gameplay where one of the spammed start presses would somehow open the field guide. Main issue was I had to do this every time, and could no longer just press select to go straight to the map, so that was really annoying. I'm honestly glad I had ruined my save trying to fix it because it would have been annoying to play the entire game like that.

ok thanks, maybe one day I'll buy the game again and hope it works better. Or just buy it for Nintendo Switch even I prefer games on pc.

I have 4 playtroughs (every different house) on this game. Left it for a while, Reinstalled it a few days ago when the update came out that gave all platforms the previously ps only quest, since I wanted to do the quest obviously... Now I can't open the menu or the map. The moment I press start/select (or press escape on keyboard) the game simply crashes. No errors or something, just black screen and gone in seconds.
Anyone experiencing the same issue? I've tried reinstalling, verifying files, deleted all mods, nothing works.
