Wand Magic vs Wandless
I've never read the books. Nor do I intend to. So maybe some of you lore junkies can help me understand this.

All the lore I have researched on Wands indicate they wildly impact the potence of the Magic a wizard uses. From Control and Finesse with Flexible wands to Raw explosive power with hard wands. Even the Cores and length of the wands seem to come into play.

Even Fig and Weasly emphasize how much stronger the Main Char's magic will be once he gets his own wand rather than a second hand wand. And the lore i researched seems to support that.

I realize none of this matters in the game, but presumably it would in the broader lore of the setting.

So I am a bit perplexed when Natty insists wandless magic is every bit as powerful as Wand magic. One wand can make magic significantly more powerful than another Wand, so how the heck is it possible that no wand at all is still just as strong?

Do the books and movies explore wandless magic at all or was this just made up for the game?

I've read the books and seen the movies. They basically make it seem like if you don't have your wand, you're defenseless. You can't do your magics with no wand. The only thing you have in that case are potions and herbology.

They also never dive into how your "wand build" affects how your magic capability either. So yea i think it was just made up for the game.

If you like wandless magic though, check out dragon ball Z. Good stuff.
There's also the audiobooks. I enjoy Stephen Fry as the Narrator. Some prefer Jim Dale.

The movies show that this is possible, albeit not expanded upon. Tom Riddle, Harry Potter and other powerful wizards for example are able to perform magic, albeit very basic, even without the use of your wands e.g Harry making the glass disappear in the zoo, Dumbledore setting a cabinet on fire just by thinking about it, Tom Riddle's dialog about moving items and commanding animals without interacting with them directly, etc.

So wandless magic IS possible, but having a wand just makes it more exceptionally powerful and controllable.

Wandless magic is supposedly more powerful but way harder to control.. You see Dumbledore use some in the movies and books but only him and maybe Voldemort can use it.. Most Wizards aren't able to use such advanced magic, and a African school that teaches it is well known but its only for the best of the best imo..

Harry uses wandless magic in the movies early on but is doing so without knowing it.

That said Natty is a social political addition to this game so take what the developers say with a grain of salt.. Shes an ok character herself but the devs ruined her to promote asinine backstories..

Short Answer:
Not really. A lot of that is just made up bs for the game's plot.

It's a known lore thing. Wands are good for precise magic and control, wandless is more broad and powerful ( the whole "mothers love" thing from Harry Potter for example) but not easily controlled. The African school is sort of like the MIT of the wizarding world.

Wandless magic is a legendary feat in the original author's work. It appears to have been (non-canon) added as a Ugandan feature to have something to "give" the Ugandans as there are no known characteristic features of Uganda to non-Africans.

Dumbledore uses wandless magic when he meets Tom Riddle in the Orphanage..

Look at it this way.

You have a pile of gunpowder and a rock. It can still explode and the rock will move somewhere.

Put it in a metal tube to better control it. The amount of gunpowder is the same, so the power is the same but it's put to much better use.
That metal tube is a wand.

Now put a crack in the tube. That's a poorly-matched wand.

The movies do start out with Harry using wandless magic instinctually, also Dobby exclusively uses wandless magic and Goblins have wandless magic as their go to.

The wand is a focus of sorts, it's like kitchen appliances, sure you can prepare food by hand and make a great stew for one but with tools at your disposal you can make something even better.

Personally, I would've suggested Fairy Tail. XD

Wait a minute.

Wand cores are made out of magical creatures. This extends to sentients as Veela-hair wands exist though they're mostly used by part-veela.

Does that mean I can have a wand made out of goblin or house elf?

Honestly a Horror Potter movie about a cannibalistic Dark Mage who uses exclusively human ingredients from powerful mages as wand materials would be pretty dope.

Did Harry not inflated a aunt or something, in one of the books, as he got angry and lost self-control?
