Ending was much better than I had expected (no spoilers).
I have seen quite a few complaints about the ending being disappointment so I expected it to be pretty bad. But after beating the game, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It's not exactly the most epic thing I've experienced but I can say that I rather enjoyed it.

One complaint that I do have, however: after the ending cut scenes, there is not much end game. Because players can accomplish so much during the game story, it doesn't feel like there is much left to do but fly around and finish a few collections. That is what I think is the real problem for those hating the ending.

So for those being put off by those "the ending is trash" posts, I can say it is much better than expected. Best I can say is, try yourself. Maybe you'll enjoy yourself but even if you don't, 50 or 60+ hours of game play is probably worth it.

Agree to disagree. There are effectively two endings, a ‘good’ and an ‘evil’ one, and even if you attempt to go the evil route, you’re pigeonholed into doing the evil thing ‘for the greater good.’

Yet another illusion of choice within the game. And the final boss battle is deplorable design, and visually a mess.

My two pence, of course.

It was tough on the hardest settings.

The last two boss fights. Frustratingly hard.

To a point where it took several attempts to clear out the heavies. Not fun.

Story wise, the entire game sucks.

Combat wise, it wasn't easy.

There is a 2nd option for evil ending, I think it said something like I want the power for myself.

I was pretty satisfied with the good ending even after having been spoiled by CERTAIN PEOPLE. The boss, I found, was pretty easy even on hard difficulty, and the design suggests to me that we were supposed to fight more dragons at some point, we never do find out what happened to the dragon that attacked the carriage in the beginning.

I agree that having more 'direction' to complete the map post-game would've been nice.

I got the good ending because only the worthy should get access to ancient magic so I kept it secret forever.

It was a cute ending to a Harry Potter story. 'sabout it. Felt like a typical Harry Potter movie ending, so it was good enough for me!

When Fig presses you on why/how you could do that, your player character assures Fig you want to use the power ‘for good.’

Hardly an evil ending. I stand by my sentiment.
