game won't launch

I get this error message when trying to launch the game. I've tried everything but nothing works. Has anyone else gotten the same error message? (patch didn't change anything either)

Couldn't start:

do you run an old OS like Win7?
Looks like the dev's haven't add support for DX11 for the game why it won't start, wish they would patch it for compability.

Some Hogwarts Legacy PC players report crash at startup with the following error message.

Couldn’t start: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\HogwartsLegacy.exe” Phoenix-SaveToUserDir -UserDir=”Hogwarts Legacy” CreateProcess() returned 2e4.

The fix for this issue is simple. Right-click Hogwarts Legacy in Steam library > Manage > browse local files. A new window will open with game files, and navigate to Phoenix > Binaries > Win64. Right-click the HogwartsLegacy executable, shown in the image below, and select troubleshoot compatibility. Let the troubleshooter work, and it’ll identify a problem if there is any. Click on the Test program and use the suggested settings. Launch Hogwarts LEgacy, and it won’t crash.

I get the same error and can't get it to work, all I get is the seizure warning when the game first starts up and then it crashes...if you figure it out please let me know because I want to be able to play too...

I updated my driver by going to driver company website and searched for update for my driver and found one and it still didn't work

Ran as an administrator and still didn't work... 🤔 I guess I'll just uninstall it and try again...

I have tried everything and it still doesn't work. I uninstalled the game and now I have a different problem : the game doesn't open, but steam says I'm playing the game and I can't close it unless I turn my pc off...

I have the solution and it helped me. Go to the file path where Hogwarts is and right click on the Hogwarts.exe and on settings then on compatibility then click on run as administrator next apply and click on ok do the same with your steam app. and then start Hogwarts. Have fun :) <3

Had same problem after the update but now fixed. Try go to Local file and Verify integrity then do this. right click on the Hogwarts.exe and on settings then on compatibility then click on run as administrator. Hope it works for everyone

I had my game set to ''run as admin'' and alll i did to fix this problem was to turn off ''run as admin'' and it fixed the problem.
