Jackdaw's Rest quest bug help

So I got to the part where there is a second gate with three plates I need to hit to unlock the gates after fighting the spiders, but when I hit the plates nothing happens, tried reloading the save many times and verifying the files, but nothing. I'm stuck on this please help me.

I think in one quest at least one of the plates is behind a spider web you need to burn off first. It isn't that obvious.

Yeah I don't see any spider webs here around the area, so probably not the same quest then

If it's not a bug that broke your quest, then you're just not hitting them quickly enough. If I remember correctly the only issue I had was when I was trying to use Levioso instead of basic attack. Oops.

I am hitting them, but nothing's happening. They're not turning or opening the gates.

Are you at the bridge but somehow managed to miss one previous step? Is this the one that makes you slowly 'rebuild' the bridge in a few stages?
I would Youtube a walkthrough and see if you can spot something you might have managed to miss.

Not really passed the two ones that rebuild the bridge and I'm stuck on this one.

OK so I there is one more option though I think it is unlikely.
It is possible for those spiders to be turtled and effectively dead but still have hitpoints so you are not out of combat. Hence things wont work.

Yeah found the solution, had to verify the files and restart the whole quest. It was due to spiders not spawning at all, so I couldn't get the last matriarch which had to be killed to trigger a dialog.

Agh, I've been having the same issue, I verified the files, redid the whole quest, and the switches still won't light up. Huge bummer, hope they fix it soon
