Wait.. gear was full, found a BIG chest.. now I can't get item after destroying 1?
I found a big chest at the top of the Frog Choir tower and I had 20/20 gear. So I deleted the Dark Flatcap (Standard) and now when I try to open the Big chest again I have no prompt to do so... effectively losing this item forever? WTF?

So I can't do anything? And I should never try to open ANY chests with full gear? Even if the chest just may be coins?

Coin chest should be fine, chest that has gear is not recommended if your inven is full.

seems if you loot and don't have room.. its gone.

annoying and nothing you can do.. unless they patch it? keep items/chests available until items truly removed.

gets a bit better later on, when you can do Merlin trials to slowly incress your well.. inventory, and can loot sell better.

but sucks for an "open world" game to be so.. limiting of exploring early on. heck the idk 1st trial.. i tried to exit and sell.. couldn't with out resetting.. so got stuck destroying a few items to make room for new ones.. money is kinda free later in the game.. but was still kind of lame.

yep first time that happened to me I loaded an autosave before opening the chest. it really sucks.

This game requires serious inventory/gear management. You gotta make some hard choices to keep your gear count low or else risk bugged chests or areas like jackdaws tomb where you can't even access your gear to make room. It'd be nice to at least have a chest/storage in your room or maybe even a visible loot screen where you can swap in/out things from chests you are looting.

You didn't lose the item. At least in my experience when this happens, the first time you get that notification it actually picked up the item and the notification was just letting you know your gear is now full, though it's the same message as if you were trying to pick up another item after the fact.

Long story short, you got the item and NOW you're full, so you deleted something for nothing.

I had the same issue. I had to reload to an earlier save.

I honestly hope this becomes a thing. Really frustrating aspect of the game to be honest. Very little reason for such a small inventory in a, currently, single player game. Not to mention, the lore in-game allows for this sort of infinite inventory.

Don't worry about gear until late game. There is no point in upgrading anything, you get new gear all the time.

Just save on the spot and reload. This reloads the area which clears that problem. Gear is never lost due to this bug.

So theoretically just saving the game from progressing on and just coming back later should solve it? I can just go back to that chest, say.. tomorrow when I play again?

Don't even need to come back later. Just do a manual save and then load that save. I've encountered this bugs a few times. Save and reload has worked 100% of the time.
