Anyone else notice sky resolution is low?
I've got everything pretty maxed out and noticed the clouds in the sky was like, half resolution, grainy and pixelated. Anyone else have this issue and know where it comes from?

The clouds are procedural meaning they're created from a noise pattern rather than a texture, it's quite computationally expensive to do with a lot of detail (see Red Dead Redemption 2).

RDR2 has resolution control for that, maxing that out looked as it should. Maxing out Sky Quality in HL does not change anything from what I've seen. The clouds look like they're 720p.

The quality will only go as high as the developers allow. Since the game is already pretty inefficient with resources they probably capped the noise resolution pretty low. RDR2 also has extra features for the clouds like ray marching which significantly improve the way shadows are drawn on clouds but again comes with a massive performance hit. HL just applies a gradient to them.
