Its an ubisoft game.
load up and play the game, which to be fair, i am enjoying, and then load up assassins creed Odyssey.
the menus, the game systems, the way you assign gear, its a clone of Odyssey.

You don't tell.

It's actually more akin to SoW (shadow of War.) just without the better gear acquisition system and nemesis system. The overworld, to way the icons look etc look straight out of SoW.

Dont tell that the Fanboys - they are gonna crush you with insults.
They will tell you how wrong you are.

the GUI maybe, I was getting more destiny vibes myself.

Regardless tho, Odyssey is a fantastic game, one of ubisoft's best. Miracle it exists considering how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ they are today.

Reminds me more of shadow of war, but at least we don't have to go through a launcher unlike assassin's Creed.

oh yeah, oddysey is great, and so is this game so far. but the menus, especially the gear section, are so similar its like they just decided to copy it wholesale rather than bother creating something.

HL is as lovely as Odyssey. The exploration, hidden treasures and fun combat playstyle. Although i lost my game half way thru the storyline because of crappy Ubisoft cloud save.

This just in! One open world game shares some features and characteristics with... another open world game! Shocking revelation.

And today is the day you realize most games take influence from other games

Yah games have been borrowing from each other for ages, and to be fair that isn't a bad thing as long as they add to it.

No, it's not.

The Canadians at Ubisoft Montreal are far ahead in certain areas of video game design. Particularly creating realistic bodies of water. Lakes, oceans, rivers, and streams, where you can swim above and below the surface. They are the best in the business at doing it.

Avalanche Software can't do that. They just have a button that says, 'dive'. And the swimming is weak-sauce.

You can also climb to great heights in Creed games to view stunning panoramic views. And their maps are huge. 50-100 miles².

There are many other things that Ubisoft does better, but there's no point in going into detail about it.

Valhalla was the best-selling Assassin's Creed game of all-time. People haven't slowed down from buying those games.

---

Doesn't mean this game is bad. Hogwarts has just schooled most video game releases. The artists that worked on this game did a bang-up job. Aside from the writing.

The UI in this game surprised me most. It's far superior than anything that I've played in recent years. But the visual effects, creativity, and attention to detail is shocking. They knocked this one out of the park.

Beyond expectations.
