better with or without RT?
do people that play the game with RT on high or ultra think it's worth it for the performance hit? is it implemented well?

It probably isn't unless your GPU can do DLSS3

It's one of those stupid unoptimized implementations that also eat a mound of vram

But yea, it looks great ofc

Though even Cyberpunk 2077 is easier to run with RT

It does look a lot nicer with RT, but i'm having it off so far, because it's not worth the performance hit in its unoptimized state. once they roll out a performance patch i'll surely turn it back on.
Its not really noticeable enough to warrant the huge performance hit, i just turn it off.

RT is broken atm i would recommend turning that off for the time being, you can get it to look good but that require editing the engine.ini file.

But there is also a bug which makes a strange lag over 30 fps with RT ON in some scenery, basically 50 fps will feel like 25 fps, kind of frame skipping micro lag with low GPU usage its weird, very noticeable in Hogsmeade, if i cap the fps to 30 the lag is gone, something they need to fix.

other then that the game runs very well with RT Off, capping my screen hz at 160 in Hogsmeade, so there is no CPU bottleneck.

thanks for all the responses, guys. Yeah I know some games have really nice programmed reflections without the need for RT so sometimes it can look almost as good, but with +20% frame rate. so the tradeoff might be worth it for a smooth game

I run it with RT because there are some areas it really makes the scene more convincing. Before I bought the game I was concerned because the lighting was flat in so many areas based on vidoes I had watched.

But RT helps that in a lot of areas. Stained glass lighting peering through, light bleeds more naturally, and all that. Not worth it for everyone, but it's pretty much the only game I've kept RT on in a long while.

Its clearly bugged. RTAO looks worse or off. Most shadows lose too much detail. Reflections are okay I suppose.

The inclusion of RT in this game so far is terrible. Go look at what RTGI and RTAO did to Witcher 3.

Looks like they fixed ray-tracing with the patch, i have no longer any lags or problems with it
ON
I even use the engine.ini tweak for enhanced RT very nice

No. Let's be honest RT doesn't work in any game unless you just want to take a screenshot. Idk why people deliberately suffer terrible framerates and blurrier graphics from upscaling just to have the lighting better. Like yeah, congrats, your reflections look nicer, but your game looks terrible. Then they complain graphics look like last gen with poor performance and it's like yeah no surprise, you're upscaling from lower resolutions than you were playing at last gen.

I can run raytracing on high with only about 15 less fps but it's not noticeable... so i agree.

I am honestly amazed that I average CP2077 @4k60 - 51fps - RT Ultra DLSS Quality! Who the hell knows what they've done to make it perform this poorly?

I think it looks a lot better with RTX even on medium. I played the intro RTX on and off and it's not the same at all especially near the end of it. Funny enough my perfs are not really better if RTX is off so i'm waiting for patches...

Reflections with RT look pixelated as fudge which just ruins immersion. The implementation is nowhere near as good as Control or Cyberpunk 2077.
